Ankle Smankle.

 Wow. It's been a while since my last post! Life has been crazy! Roughly four months ago I was writing this great post about husbands new toy. A motorcycle! But don't get all excited just yet. He's already had his first accident. His toy "The Beast" is totaled. His right ankle was shattered in said accident, surgery was a must if he wanted a "normal" ankle for the rest if his life. I would much rather be writing about the wind in our hair. Or even how uncomfortable the seats are. But alas. Here we are. I was out of town when the accident happened. I came home to husband standing on crutches in the middle of the livingroom. Fake smiling. Blinds drawn. He was in mourning for "The Beast". Fast forward a few months of him hobbling around on crutches. Him getting a new nickname of One Leg. Me playing taxi. Doctor visits. Physical therapy. Lots of talking about "Won't it be nice when you can actually walk" sorts of things and getting X-rays for the gazillionth time and here we are today. On our first visit a nurse said "welcome. You just joined the flock. You're gonna be around here for a while. " o happy day. Looking forward to longer calling husband "One Leg!"

Frosty Mug

Over the weekend, husband and I made a stop at the 'ol Goodwill. You never know what you'll find there! I was wandering around and and found myself in the kitchenwares. Weird, I KNOW! Then I stumbled on these mugs, they reminded me of my uncle. He use to drink milk out of frosty mugs, and I always thought that was so cool! Thus, said mugs came home with us, and after a quick run through the rain locker they went into the freezer. And do you know what we enjoyed tonight.... Root beer in frosty mugs. Quite possibly the nearest thing to heaven. It was truly amazing. I love frosty mugs. Thanks Uncle.

Fiddle Faddle

I love technology, I truly do.  But more than that, I love being spoiled by my wonderful husband!  We saved up for the iPad 2 not knowing when the "New iPad" was coming out, and when we were ready to take the plunge, there she was... the new one for the previous price of the 2.  Needless to say, we went with the new one!  You know what is amazing... all the things it can do.. I'm seriously shocked that it doesn't make breakfast and brush my hair, it's that amazing!  I'm determined to figure out how to use this thing like a professional, until then if you were sitting with me in my living room you would randomly hear "Oh Fiddle Faddle!" as I confusingly stare at this wonderful contraption.

Time...

It's almost Spring people! And I'm still longing for Winter... I must be sick..But not just any kind of Winter-- a freezing, cold, snowy kind of Winter.  Hopefully these beautiful flowers will help me feel more in the "mood," but then again we're losing a whole precious hour of sleep tomorrow... Daylight Savings time should be outlawed. Just sayin'!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!

Awkward:
* Going to Starbucks in the morning to grab a hot tea and also ordering a cake pop at oh.. 9:00 in the morning.  How do these things happen! 
* Being so excited about the next day that you have a hard time sleeping, and wake up WAY TO EARLY, just laying there... staring at husband... waiting... and waiting... until he finally wakes up!  You'd think we were going to Disney and I was 5 years old.
* Ordering an extra special gift for myself online and having to re-route myself back to my shopping cart 900 millions times because I was so excited I couldn't control my fingers!  
* Having a purse addiction... it's a serious problem... oh and shoes... purses & shoes.. oh dear.

Awesome:
* Starbucks!! Don't get me wrong, when I'm on the East Coast, I'm Dunkin all the way... but when in Rome San Diego! I love me some Chia Tea Lattes and cake pops obviously!
* That handsome little fur-muffin up there at the top, my Squigmen! He's just awesome and the bestest little buddy around.
* Husband is getting a new "toy" and I'll be posting about that NEXT WEEK!
*Deciding on skateboard or roller skates... the decision is made people! 

Cast Your Vote!

Question 1: Why in the world do dogs need to be "exercised"? Oh that's right.. so they don't eat your entire house when you're not home.  Lately husband has been roller blading with Lenny, to "exercise" him, which is hilarious to watch.  But now it's time for this fur-mama to get some "exercise" time in too.  I'm having a difficult time deciding between these two options....SO!  Cast your vote: Option 1--Skateboard.  Option 2-- Roller Skates.  I will be posting a video of Lenny and I "exercising" after the votes are tallied and we have our first bonding time.  Hopefully I will not die in the process! 

Awkward & Awesome

Awkward:
* Testing out skateboards at a sporting goods store, and nearly crashing into every wall, display, person, etc. near me.  How do people ride these things!?!
* Working on graphics for 2 hours just to start over because "some one" forgot to save the first draft!
* Hello Mr. Wal-mart man... No, I don't like you following me around yelling out in Spanish Jesus... Don't mind me as I speed walk away like a crazy woman.
* Onions--I hate onions-- being adventurous trying them in a new recipe, just to have to turn into jelly-like, slimey worms. No thank you.
* Grocery shopping, which is usually an awkward experience anyways... but especially when said grocery shopper goes to a different location... Marco... Marco...---are you there Marco?! I must have completed 900 laps around the whole store!
* Going to my beloved Target and checking out with the following: Gluten Free chocolate chip cookie mix, Gluten Free chocolate cake mix, 2 tubs of frosting with sprinkles, 2 bags of candy, and... wait for it, wait for it... BACON. Let's just say that the lady at the register stared at me for a second.  


Awesome:
* Actually going grocery shopping! And surviving without running someone over! That's when you know it's been a great day!
* We cleaned our carpets... and they smell VOON-DA-BAA!  (that's wonderful in some language I'm sure)
* We are having a game night at church tomorrow!! Say What, Say What! 
* We are also having a "Congratulations You Had a Birthday" Birthday party in our Super Church on Sunday!  Hence all the dessert shopping at Target!
* We found out what breed of dog Lenny is this week!  Random I know, BUT! We met this lady at the park with a dog that looked like Lenny's twin.  Bada-bing, Bada-boom--- Lenny is a Catahoula! 
* Husband has been bringing home Starbucks after class just for me... am I lucky or what!

Time For a Change

You know what I love... french fries... ice cream... chocolate... sadly they don't love me back!  So we have decided to start eating "clean." Have you ever heard of this?  When I first started researching this I was convinced that I would be eating carrots and celery and hating life.  Then I found a magazine that changed my life!  Packed full of clean eating recipes and meals... absolutely beautiful!  So, I've been pouring over these recipes, writing down the ones that I love and will be adding them to our menu for the next week!  Be sure to stop by on Thursday is my "Awkward & Awesome" la-tea-da, trust me-- you won't want to me miss it!

Remodel--take 2

The blog is slowly coming together! I will be restarting the whole blog in March with at least 3 posts per week! This remodel is going to be awesome! Check back soon for more updates.

Remodel

Blogging is definitely more difficult than I anticipated.  I'm going to be making some changes on the 'ol blog homestead and such.  I'm wanting to post more often and start fun things like "Awkward and Awesome," recipes, crafts, fashion, and who knows what else... but I want this to be an exciting, positive, outstanding place.  Who knows, there may even be a name change in the future too!  :) Let's do this!

Launderland

Laundry day... I pretty much loathe those words, but more specifically the actual day itself. Every Friday I pack my laundry bags as full as they will hold. Strong man carry them to the car and then head to "Loma Launderland." It never fails that as I'm dragging those laundry bags into Launderland I'm daydreaming... Daydreaming of my dream home where there will be no more strong man carrying of laundry bags up and down stairs an across parking lots. Of having my very own washer and dryer ad not wondering what kind of mystery germs are in Launderland. Oh dream house, oh dream laundry room ... I can't wait for that day!
